Positive Attitudes…Things Turn Out Best

Things turn out best for the people who make the best out of the way things turn out. Art Linkletter

We all know people who have difficulty finding anything positive in their lives. Are you one of them? Who do you love to be with? Those who grumble and complain or those that bring smiles and sunshine into a room?

A positive attitude doesn’t just improve our mental health – it improves our physical and spiritual health as well! It is an attitude worth cultivating and working for!

I spent a period of about 15 years of my life suffering from 24/7 migraine headaches. I had to do a lot of analyzing of my life as I sought for and found answers to improve my health. My mental health deteriorated over time due to the extended period of time that I had had to deal with intense physical pain. As I began to find answers and regain my health, I realized that those years of headaches had taken a toll on my mindset. One of the most important things that I was inspired to recognize was that I needed to remember what I had been like when I had been well.

Remembering what I had been like when I was well was a huge turning point for me in my recovery. It taught me to treasure sunshine, a hearty laugh, and simple things like thinking. Spending so many years being light sensitive and having a mind that cringed at having to exert itself had trained me to avoid going outside our interacting with others in a way that required me to be mentally alert. All I can say is Hurray for our ability to heal and to change! Just working at remembering what I had been like when I was well was a huge blessing in my recovery!

Change is an ongoing process for all of us. Treasure the blessings that are yours! It will do you and our world good!

I hope that you enjoy today’s story! It is a great example of the power of a positive attitude!:

This Is Good

An old story is told of a king in Africa who had a close friend with whom he grew up. The friend had a habit of looking at every situation that ever occurred in his life (positive or negative) and remarking, “This is good!”

One day the king and his friend were out on a hunting expedition. The friend would load and prepare the guns for the king. The friend had apparently done something wrong in preparing one of the guns, for after taking the gun from his friend, the king fired it and his thumb was blown off. Examining the situation the friend remarked as usual, “This is good!” To which the king replied, “No, this is NOT good!” and proceeded to send his friend to jail.

About a year later, the king was hunting in an area that he should have known to stay clear of. Cannibals captured him and took him to their village. They tied his hands, stacked some wood, set up a stake and bound him to the stake. As they came near to set fire to the wood, they noticed that the king was missing a thumb. Being superstitious, they never ate anyone that was less than whole. So untying the king, they sent him on his way.

As he returned home, he was reminded of the event that had taken his thumb and felt remorse for his treatment of his friend. He went immediately to the jail to speak with his friend. “You were right,” he said, “it was good that my thumb was blown off.” And he proceeded to tell the friend all that had just happened. “And so I am very sorry for sending you to jail for so long. It was bad for me to do this.”

“No,” his friend replied, “This is good!” “What do you mean,’This is good’? How could it be good that I sent my friend to jail for a year?” “If I had NOT been in jail, I would have been with you.”

Looking on the Bright Side…The Power of Positive Thoughts

Looking on the bright side and the power of positive thoughts should not be underestimated. We each have been born with the ability to choose what we think about.

It is through those thoughts that our actions are determined.

One of the lessons I learned in heaven is that God never takes our personal power away. We can choose to give it away through choices that lead to addiction, etc but it cannot be forced from us.

I love the work of Barbara Ireland, another near death experiencer. Her work is with mind looping. We may not have been trained as a child to direct our thoughts in positive ways but we can choose to learn that skill – whatever our age!

I hope that you enjoy today’s story! It is a great example of how the power of positive thought can and will bring blessings!:

Are your thoughts always focused on some worry? Are your thoughts often fixated on judgements of others? Do you protect your heart and make sure that it is not vulnerable so that others cannot hurt you? Would you say that you operate mostly on auto-pilot? Which has the greatest influence in your life: Love or fear?

You can choose where you center your life. And, as a result, you can use your heart to steer you towards the life of your dreams!

Have you ever wondered why you cherish every lesson learned? It is because your spirit innately craves growth and goodness!

If you would like to optimize your positive growth, pay attention to your thoughts – all of your thoughts. Whatever the Mind Can Believe and Conceive, the Mind Can Achieve…

whatever-the-mind-can-believe-and-concieve-feather-1343911

In Proverbs 23 it says, ” For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he”. Think of the heart – the emotions and the conviction that comes from the heart. The scripture seems to address what a man is. However, I believe that it also talks to what a man (any individual) can become. Is there something in your heart that you are passionate about? A cause? A quest? I hope you will listen to the positive whisperings of your heart – those whisperings that speak of doing wonderful and positive things! That is your divine guidance speaking to you! That is your spirit and your Creator attempting  to communicate the amazing potential that you are meant to realize! Remember, if you can believe it, you can achieve it!
